Frequently asked questions
General
We typically move furniture and smaller artwork/frames back when the walls are dry to the touch. Heavier items (large photos, mirrors, etc.) placed directly on painted surfaces should wait 5-6 days, keeping in mind the paint might still be slightly soft. Check after a few hours for sticking if concerned.
We typically recommend using oil-based penetrating stains, these stains absorb into the wood instead of sitting on the surface, which prevents peeling. Water-based stains are best used on vertical surfaces or severely damaged/weathered wood. Water-based stains have a tendency to peel over time, while oil-based stains usually fade instead.
Yes, we remove wallpaper for $55 per hour plus the cost of the steamer rental. Although uncommon, it should be noted that sometimes the wall behind the wallpaper was not prepped properly. We like to warn our clients just in case, as the wall may need to be repaired to varying degrees, and depending on your existing texture and the extent of the damage, you may need to hire a professional drywall company.
